August 11, 2009— LOS ANGELES, SANTA MONICA AND BEVERLY HILLS CALIFORNIA — Dr. Atoosa Nikaeen recently announced a teeth alignment and whitening special geared toward brides at her Beverly Hills, CA orthodontics practice.
This special bridal program offers power braces or aligner therapy, followed by a complimentary teeth whitening procedure once orthodontic treatment has ended, as a way of helping them look their best for their special day.
“There are brides who never get manicures and pedicures, yet they will get them in preparation for their wedding day,” said a Beverly Hills, CA orthodontist Dr. Nikaeen. “The beauty of those procedures is temporary, but straight, white teeth can last a lifetime.”
It may seem that orthodontic treatment can’t render the desired results prior to a wedding without having planned ahead for a couple of years, but that isn’t true, said the Beverly Hills braces expert.
As the name suggests, Powerprox Six Month Braces are one treatment that can be completed in relatively short order.
“Since many brides plan their weddings a year in advance, power braces and some aligner therapies can realistically be worked into the wedding planning details,” she said.
Power braces work quickly because of their specially designed wires that exert a light, continuous force to quickly shift the teeth into their desired position. This technique is not ideal for every orthodontic case, so it is important to have a consultation with an orthodontist to determine if the patient is a good candidate, Nikaeen said.
Another option for achieving straight teeth is aligner therapy, such as the Invisalign system. Various aligner therapies use clear plastic aligners to gradually straighten teeth. That means that even if orthodontic treatment isn’t completed in time for the bride’s big day, the clear aligners are practically invisible when worn and can be removed for photos.
A teeth whitening procedure is like icing on a cake- a nice finishing touch once orthodontic treatment is complete, Nikaeen said.
“Once patients have straight teeth, they are anxious to show them off, and a teeth whitening procedure can help someone look their best,” she said. “It’s a nice touch that we like to offer as a sort of reward for successfully making it through orthodontic treatment.”
