2. Compliance Indicator
Invisalign and other Lakeville invisible braces options only work when they are worn, Eisenhuth said. Wearing the appliances was a common issue in young patients, so Invisalign Teen aligners come equipped with a small blue dot that dissipates with wear.

“The reason many orthodontists shy away from offering removable appliances as a treatment option to younger patients is because they only work if they are worn properly,” Eisenhuth said.

If the aligners are uncomfortable, younger patients sometimes are less likely to wear them, but to tell their parents and their orthodontist that they are, in fact, wearing the aligners as they should.

“The compliance indicators help eliminate that problem,” she said. “Those little blue dots don’t lie.”

3. Replacements
Broken and/or lost aligners are a common occurrence in young patients, so Invisalign Teen offers up to six free replacement sets of aligners. Normally the aligners cost $50 apiece to replace.
