LOS ANGELES, SANTA MONICA AND BEVERLY HILLS CALIFORNIA — Los Angeles Orthodontist expert Dr. Atoosa Nikaeen is celebrating National Orthodontic Health Month this October by educating parents on the importance of orthodontic evaluation and treatment when necessary.
Nikaeen’s Los Angeles, CA orthodontics practice has participated in this month-long campaign since it began two years ago. The goal of this campaign is to share ways in which people can get the greatest benefit from various methods of orthodontic treatment and devices.

Children should be evaluated by an orthodontist by age 7, according to the American Association of Orthodontists.
Treating children’s orthodontic problems early can reduce the time needed to treat patients with braces in the future and in some cases can eliminate the need for braces altogether. National Orthodontic Health Month was created in 2007 by the U.S. House of Representatives at the prompting of the American Association of Orthodontics, which represents about 95 percent of orthodontists in the United States. The AAO concentrates on education, public policy and increasing awareness of orthodontic care.
When the 110th Congress passed the resolution that established October as National Orthodontic Health Month, it recognized that although many Americans- both children and adults- receive orthodontic treatment, that is a small portion of those who could benefit from it.

Dr. Nikaeen graduated with honors from dental school in 1993 and received a doctorate in dental surgery (DDS).
